Did you know that salsa dancers move their legs in a space less than or equal to 40 cm2 ? Acrobatics and rapidity in the movements, a unique style that gave the Seal to the city of Cali- Colombia, of the World´s Salsa Capital, from the 70s.

History tells us that Salsa in Cali city began as an entertainment factor for popular places in the city, places where their identity and cultural traits were defined. Little by little, this rhythm evolved reaching higher social places where it was potentiated, through the creation of salsa orchestras and sets.

The success of this rhythm does not stopped there. The internationalization of the rhythm reached Colombia with the creation of "Salsa World Championships", as well as exclusive places and events that promote its growth, such as the "Salsodromo" in Cali and its famous Fair.

The Salsa Choque is a musical Salsa Style, urban type that was born on the shores of the Colombian Pacific, inspired by the traditional Salsa by adding urban and African sounds. The song “Ras tas tas”, danced by the Colombian Soccerteam at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, is the most famous representation of this genre.

Imagine that you are walking in Cali city and then a "Caleño" (cali people) tells you "Mira ve, estas toda empeluchada", or "Mira ve, pasame una chuspa ois". Over time you will understand that these typical autochthonous phrases of the region apart from getting a smile do not translate more than the courtesy and joy of the Cali people to communicate that "You are very elegant and pretty" or they needed to "pass them a bag ".
